Special New York Workshop in conjunction with
Elizabeth Browning Studio

Monday - July 20, 2009
6:30 - 10pm

Auditioning Shakespeare

Have you ever pictured yourself performing at the New York Shakespeare Festival or filming along side of Judy Dench or Ian McKellen? In this exciting new workshop, you can unlock the clues to language-driven text and find a new way into those fabulous and complex characters of Shakespeare!

Fully realized characters have a body language that is subtextual and true to humanity, with vocal and textual choices that are supported by given circumstances. In this workshop you will be provided with exercises and tricks to move your classical audition piece to performance levels by learning to get the most from the language and incorporating a more physicalized approach to the text. This workshop will be totally hands on, working in groups and solo, in a fun, supportive environment. You will be asked to bring your prepared classical monologue that you currently use for auditions (no longer than 3 minutes in length).

This workshop will have limited enrollment to allow for maximum work time with each actor, so register now in order to reserve a space.
