Creating Original Characters:
Text & Alexander Technique Intensive

Sundays, April 27th and May 4th
12 - 4pm
2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia

Certified Alexander instructor, Mary McCann, and April Feld Sandor of Simply Shakespeare, are offering artists a remarkable opportunity to brush up on techniques and take your work to the next level. This intensive offers one-on-one attention and hands-on application in discovering your habits, your choices, and your talents in creating fully supported believable characters. We will work together to strengthen the integration of movement, voice and theatre technique, using text of YOUR CHOICE -- either a new audition piece you wish to work on OR a dream role you dare to put into the universe.

  • Discover the ease and the playfulness of character creation

  • Combine text and bodywork to reveal the passion and emotional truth of the character

  • Transform tensions into useful character energy

  • Strengthen your observation skills and create from CHOICE as opposed to habit

  • Improve vocal clarity, strength and flexibility

  • Integrate a characterâs particular rhythms and way of speaking with physical freedom

  • Have fun with your work!

Workshop fee:$165
