With Ham on the Side pokes fun at the shaming, the lying, and the games people play whilst trying to be someone or something they are not. It primarily explores the language and certain framing devices from As You Like It. Starveling, with his mysterious background slowly unfolding, must go into hiding. He asks Flute to come with him into the Woods. But in order not to be found out by the Duke, or by Bottome, each must dress..as a girl!

The play, for five actors, runs approximately 45 minutes.
